Our company has recently used the Asahi Kasei 6803 membrane, and we found that the voltage is similar to that of the N2050 membrane, but a much larger amount of acid is required. I’m curious to know how others are finding it. Let’s exchange ideas.

6803 is a specialized membrane provided by Asahi Kasei exclusively for its premium customers. The amount of acid added is determined based on factors such as the purity of chlorine in the electrolyte cell and current efficiency; if too much acid is used, it indicates significant side reactions in the ion membrane, which suggests either many pores in the membrane or low efficiency. If we want to discuss the performance of the 6803 membrane, it is necessary to share data such as operating current, voltage, chlorine purity, salt content in the alkali, and outlet pH in order to provide a better understanding of its performance. If only a few ion exchange membranes are to be used on the entire tank, the amount of acid to be added must also take into account the effects of the other membranes.
We also used the F6803; it seems to have a lower voltage, but slightly lower electrical efficiency and a slightly higher pinhole rate.
