Does anyone know any manufacturers of diaphragm electrolyzers for electrolyzing salt solutions?

There are no manufacturers dedicated to producing diaphragm electrolyzers; chlor-alkali plants manufacture them themselves. This technology is almost extinct. Those interested can contact myben@126.com

I work in the environmental protection field and need diaphragm electrolyzer systems. In theory, chlor-alkali plants should be able to do this, but it differs from the requirements of chlor-alkali electrolysis; it’s not clear which company can develop a complete system for this purpose

Diaphragm electrolyzers can be classified into broad and narrow senses; in the industry, the term generally refers to the narrow sense of diaphragm electrolyzers, namely asbestos-diaphragm electrolyzers. I’m talking about the technology of asbestos-diaphragm electrolyzers, which is now known by very few people. As for ion-exchange membrane electrolyzers, it’s said to be simple enough that anyone can build them, but in reality, only a few companies such as Asahi Glass, Asahi Kasei, Wood, and Hokka Chemical are capable of producing them at a high quality on a commercial scale.

This post was last edited by b320 on 2017-6-18 at 16:46. Ion membrane electrolyzers are quite delicate and have strict requirements regarding operating conditions. Diaphragm electrolyzers are relatively more durable. What do you want to recycle?
I guess you are electrolyzing zinc chloride to recover zinc and chlorine, and then using that chlorine to oxidize ferrous chloride to produce ferric chloride, right?
