Friends, one ton of hydrochloric acid is distilled per day; it’s a mixture of hydrochloric acid, water, and solvents. The hydrochloric acid is separated out, while the catalyst used in this process is recycled. The boiling point of this catalyst is 200 degrees. Do anyone have any good suggestions? There are several approaches available: one involves using glass, whose advantages are corrosion resistance and low cost, but its disadvantages are fragility and a short lifespan, plus heating presents a problem. II. Using PTFE lining has the advantages of corrosion resistance and ease of leak repair, but the downside is that it may not withstand negative pressure; heating also presents a problem. As for the heating method and the type of pump to use, I lean towards PTFE. Once the processing method is determined, it will involve using PTFE lining. The inner wall of the tank needs to be treated in order to enable it to withstand negative pressure. A water circulation pump can be used; I’m curious to hear if anyone has any other suggestions. This project deals with a pharmaceutical intermediate, 5F pyrimidine, and utilizes an anhydrous process that generates no wastewater. Do we have to use a vacuum? The hydrochloric acid distillation units I have encountered are of the semi-distillation type; no vacuum is used. The hydrogen chloride gas obtained is separated, while the remaining dilute hydrochloric acid, at around 14%, continues to be absorbed for use in the next processing stage. The hydrogen chloride is then supplied for use in subsequent processes. The pipeline uses steel lined with PTFE, while the equipment is made of graphite
Graphite is not intended to be used for heating due to its fragility; PTFE is planned to be used as it is easier to repair.
