Our factory uses 898 forced-circulation electrolyzers of the 15WT type for chlorine production. The chlorine pressure is not very stable. On the U-tube manometer on the chlorine side, the chlorine pressure fluctuates between 20 and 60; this value should be fine. But the frequency of fluctuations is high. Who can tell me what the reason is? Another key point is that just a couple of days ago, the chlorine pressure inside the electrolyzer remained almost at a constant level for about 20 seconds, which indicates that the external negative pressure was quite high. However, there was no obvious abnormality in the chlorine pressure on the main pipe. There are also no obvious abnormalities with the chlorine compressor (it’s just that the pressure at its inlet and outlet is not very stable usually). Can anyone tell me what causes this? Is there a problem with the central control instrument or the field instruments? Is there still air leakage in the pipeline? Is there still a problem with the chlorine compressor? The key issue is that the frequency of pressure fluctuations of chlorine gas inside the electrolyzer is high; I’m not sure whether the operation at your plant is stable or not! !

1. Check whether there are any issues with the control valve and pressure gauge on the chlorine main pipeline. 2. Determine whether the chlorine compressor is operating stably; based on what you’ve described, it seems that unstable pressure from the chlorine compressor is the cause.
It might be the chlorine compressor; try adjusting the PID values of the reflux control valve and see
Is the flow rate of the several pumps used for chlorine drying fluctuating significantly? Is the water flow smooth when cooling with titanium? Are the liquid levels of the water mist collector and acid mist collector’s seals in normal condition?
