I have only visually inspected the sodium carbonate crystal particles, and they are roughly under 80 microns in size!
May I ask the original poster what a natural crystal is – is it a precipitated crystal?
What about the diameter of naturally formed crystal particles? There’s no such concept really. Crystals can be enlarged indefinitely; it’s just that by controlling the manufacturing process, it’s possible to achieve the desired particle size
In the absence of disturbances, natural crystallization allows crystals to grow indefinitely; this is the case with mirabilite in salt lakes
What are the requirements for the evaporation and crystallization process of sodium carbonate?
Natural crystals of mirabilite found in salt lakes; I’ve seen ones about 2 centimeters in size, crystal clear and transparent. Sodium carbonate crystals rarely form in large pieces.
