Seeking advice: We are using Chl Engineering’s Model 888 electrolyzers, and the chlorine pipeline in these systems is under negative pressure. It is very difficult to take samples for testing the hydrogen content in the chlorine from each individual electrolyzer. We would like to implement online analysis, but the negative pressure makes sampling a problem. Is there any good solution to this issue?
If the negative pressure is not high, an online analyzer can use a sampling pump
In chlor-alkali production, the chlorine pressure in the anode cell during extraction is only a slight negative pressure below atmospheric pressure, so it is possible to take samples using a standard chlorine-resistant sampling pump. The sampling pipeline also needs to be resistant to chlorine. There are now many options available for online chlorine analyzers, among which tunable laser analyzers might be a good choice.
