Briefly describe the shortcomings of Solvay carbonization tower: ①The internal structure of the tower is complex, the equipment is heavy, and the cost is high ; ②The carbonized liquid and the crystals precipitated from it pass through the tower at the same time from top to bottom, and the crystallization residence time is short, making it difficult to grow large particle crystals; ③ The sodium bicarbonate in the tower is severely scarred, and the alkali production cycle is short.

During the soda production process, a sodium bicarbonate scar layer will form on the inner wall of the carbonization tower, especially on the surface of the cooling tube. The longer the operation time, the thicker the scar layer will be. When the scar layer reaches a certain thickness, the heat transfer efficiency decreases and the gas and liquid channels become smaller, so the operation cannot be performed normally.
The heat transfer efficiency is low, continuous production is not possible, and regular cleaning is required.
