Recently, the **standard for high-purity sodium hydroxide**, of which Sanyou Chlor-Alkali Company was one of the lead editors, came into effect in the fourth quarter of 2024. This **standard was formulated in strict accordance with GB/T 1.1-2020 \"Guidelines for standardization work – Part 1: Structure and drafting rules for standard documents\", with a total of 15 revisions made. In this revision, taking into account the fact that in the downstream market for caustic soda, over 48% of the caustic soda in use has essentially replaced caustic soda with a purity of 42% or 45%, the requirement that the mass fraction of sodium hydroxide in liquid caustic soda HL-I be ≥45% has been changed to a requirement of ≥48%. Meanwhile, to standardize the product quality in the solid caustic soda market, it is stipulated that the mass fraction of sodium hydroxide in HS-I type solid caustic soda must be ≥98.5%. In accordance with the requirements of the standardization policy, the classification into first-class and premium grades is abolished, and all are classified as qualified products. The revised new version of the standard not only reflects actual production conditions but also takes market demands into full account, which helps to improve product quality and enhance market competitiveness. This **standard was ultimately issued by** the State Administration for Market Regulation and the **Standardization Administration Committee**. Moving forward, Sanyou Chlor-Alkali Company will continue to work on formulating other various **standards, in order to contribute to the high-quality development of the industry.
