At Yongyin Chemical, the rectifier transformer’s voltage dropped directly from 110. Is there any problem with that?

The electricity cost is lower when using 110kV, while equipment using 35kV is more reliable. I also prefer not to have a secondary voltage reduction within the plant; it seems like a rather complicated process. I’d like to learn from everyone’s experiences and insights in this area. Could you tell us where your 110kv main transformers and 110kv rectifier transformers are manufactured? How efficient is it? How’s the operating power factor? What are the cooling methods and the ways of connecting power lines in and out? How to prevent moisture in humid southern environments? What should be given priority in lightning protection design in areas with frequent thunderstorms in the south? How to resist thunderstorm surge voltages?

Our company’s second-phase project also uses 110KV direct stepping down; the first phase used 110KV to 35KV before rectification. Overall, 110KV direct stepping down is better in all aspects, though it requires a larger investment
If possible, opt for a 110KV direct step-down system; it offers much better stability and efficiency compared to 35KV, as well as superior shock resistance. The technology for 110KV transformers is now very mature.
