Depending on the chlorate, the ratio of the amount of weak salt water to the amount of hydrochloric acid added during decomposition varies. But under normal circumstances, it is recommended to add fresh saline and hydrochloric acid in a 1:1 ratio, that is, the volumes of fresh saline and hydrochloric acid should be equal. At the same time, care must be taken to ensure safety when decomposing chlorates, in order to avoid the generation of harmful gases. It is recommended to perform the operation in a well-ventilated area, using personal protective equipment as well. .
The amount of hydrochloric acid should be adjusted based on the chlorate content in the brackish water.
For peracid treatment, a pH of no more than 2 should be sufficient
