Hello everyone. Since the maintenance work on our sulfuric acid production facility started at the beginning of the year, its color has remained unclear, appearing slightly milky white. There is no condensed acid in the system; the distributors in all three towers were replaced before the New Year. The magnetic rings inside the towers have not been cleaned, and we suspect that this is due to the acid sludge inside the towers not having been properly flushed out. Sometimes, during maintenance periods or at the beginning of operation, when the dry-suction acid pump is running to circulate acid, impurities can accumulate in the acid circulation system. Once driving returns to normal, as the acid production removes the accumulated impurities, the aforementioned situation will gradually improve.
Generally, about a week after starting operation, the acid in the dry absorption cycle will become clear. If it is milky white, check the performance of the electrostatic precipitator; if its efficiency is low, the purification load is high, and the acid remains dirty throughout the washing process, resulting in poor purification effects and thus poor transparency of the acid. First, you need to start with purification and improve waste discharge; things will gradually get better. Just like when washing clothes, if you use dirty water, how can you get them clean?
It is also possible for catalyst dust to enter the absorption process, affecting the clarity of the acid.
