The most common problem with sulfide guns is bending and deformation, with the middle section bending downward while the ends lift up. Apart from the weight of the gun itself causing it to sag, heat deformation is likely the main factor. While the machine is in operation, the wind carries heat away to the back, so the temperature of the sulfide gun should not be too high (of course, this does not apply to the nozzle area). The greater deformation is likely due to the fact that the sulfide gun is left in the furnace without being removed after the machine is stopped; people assume that the steam from the jacket surrounding the sulfide gun will be sufficient to keep its temperature low, so they don’t worry about it. Of course, many times it is also to save trouble or labor and time. I’m not sure how other manufacturers that use sulfide guns handle them when parking their vehicles; I would appreciate some advice.

All of our several sets of sulfonation guns are protected by jacket steam, and no deformation issues have occurred; only blockages in the sulfonation guns have happened.
