There is an existing wet sulfuric acid production plant, and there is a section of pipe in which the medium is sulfuric acid at 260°C; the recommended material for such pipes in this process is those lined with PTFE. But the manufacturer can guarantee up to 240°C. Does anyone know any manufacturers related to production? Or other materials can be used as substitutes
Originally, metal hoses lined with PTFE were used, but these hoses tended to break easily; later, steel liners with PTFE were adopted, and that worked fine. Some adjustments were made during piping installation – only short sections were exposed to high temperatures, and the PTFE lining could handle such temperatures without issue
Finding a more reliable PTFE manufacturer is no problem at all
Sulfuric acid capable of reaching 260 degrees must have a concentration of at least 93%; however, it is very difficult for enamel and PTFE pipes to function under conditions of 260 degrees for an extended period of time. It is recommended to use silicon carbide pipes instead.
The temperature of the acid coming out of the condenser is 260℃
