Are the catalysts used in the sulfuric acid industry currently domestic or imported? Is a 3+2 configuration necessary when using domestic catalysts? What gives foreign catalysts an advantage over domestic ones?

Imported catalysts have larger pore sizes, resulting in lower internal diffusion resistance and a higher utilization rate of their internal surfaces. Domestic catalysts generally have small pore sizes, resulting in high internal diffusion resistance and low utilization of the internal surface area. Since domestic catalysts must meet national standards, such as a vanadium content of not less than 8%, this results in smaller pore sizes in the carriers of domestic catalysts. Due to the low utilization rate of their internal surfaces, domestic catalysts require the addition of more sodium salts in their formulation in order to improve short-term activity (the initial activity of domestic catalysts is not low), which results in a decrease in their thermal stability.
