Dear experts, I have a question: to convert the production of 98% acid (3+2) from the smelting of 100,000 tons of lead into the production of 105% acid, what equipment and facilities need to be added? What are the approximate annual production capacities for acid 98 and acid 105 in tons per year? How much will the total investment cost? What are the technical requirements or challenges?
In principle, whether standard fuming sulfuric acid can be produced depends on the concentration of the gas entering the drying tower and temperature control; by adding a smoke absorption system, there should be no major difficulties otherwise!
Just ensure proper water balance; calculate the area of the purified acid coolers (for circulating cooling water and deep chilled water). Everything else follows the standard procedures for nitric acid production
The sulfur dioxide concentration is 12–13%, and the temperature of the flue gas at the exit of the electrostatic precipitator is around 40 degrees in extremely hot conditions, and below 38 degrees under other conditions. I wonder if it’s possible to produce 105 acid

The equipment that needs to be added includes: nicotinic acid absorption tower, nicotinic acid circulation tank, nicotinic acid cooler, and nicotinic acid pump. The 100,000-tonne mineral acid production plant can be modified to produce 98% acid and nicotinic acid. Assuming an exit temperature of 40°C and a gas concentration of 8.5% after conversion, it is possible to produce approximately 58,600 tonnes per year of nicotinic acid (at 104.5% purity) and 39,600 tonnes per year of 98% acid. Is a plan needed?
