Converter bed pressure difference

The pressure difference across the first bed of the converter has reached 1.8 KPA, with the maximum allowable value being 2 KPA. What will happen if this value continues to rise? What are the consequences?
Before the major maintenance here, the pressure difference across sections 2, 3, and 4 was around 1,000 pascals, while the pressure difference in section 1 was higher, at 5.5 kilopascals. The unit had been in operation for a long time; the catalyst in section 1 had become pulverized and was covered with sublimed sulfur. An increase in the inlet temperature of section 1 had no effect on the conversion rate.
An ongoing increase in pressure indicates that the catalyst is becoming pulverized, or that a certain section contains sublimed sulfur. To maintain the conversion rate, the inlet temperature of that section can be increased; however, long-term operation will lead to a decline in the catalyst’s performance at low temperatures.
Nonsense – at such a high temperature, even sulfur that sublimes is in gaseous form; how could it be retained? :o
It is suspected that a portion of the furnace lining has fallen off and adhered to the protective layer of the first bed layer
It could be pulverized material, or it could be dust-like substances, such as those from the furnace lining, that have adhered to the bed layer protector
