Looking back over the years, we’ve taken quite a few detours in the operation and maintenance of our acid production plants. We’ve spent a lot of money, yet problems often persisted. Catalysts are a typical example; many users have found that acid production plants exhibit poor conversion rates. The solutions proposed involve the use of catalysts, yet once these plants were put back into operation, they still did not achieve the desired conversion rates. There are also some equipment suppliers (gas-to-gas heat exchangers) whose cold heat transfer performance does not meet the requirements; an important reason for this is the tendency of the catalysts used upstream to become powdered, which leads to blockages in the tube side. There are indeed quite a few similar problems. Regarding acid-producing devices, my personal opinion is to adopt traditional Chinese medicine methods for diagnosis, from a holistic and balanced perspective that takes into account all related elements; of course, Western medicine should not be dismissed either. Once the root cause is identified, it is sometimes necessary to adopt Western medical approaches and replace it with high-performance equipment. In a nutshell: Quite often, the problems in acid production units cannot be resolved by taking just one measure. Just as achieving low tail-gas emissions isn’t possible merely by replacing the catalyst, one must employ a combination of measures—such as optimizing the gas flow distribution across various conversion stages, detecting and repairing leaks in heat exchangers, and maintaining thermal balance during secondary conversion—in order to achieve the desired results.
The accumulated experience is the wealth you’ve created!
Old Yu, you’re a top expert in integrating traditional Chinese and Western medicine
I’ve visited many factories; the experts are among the ordinary people: lol
The experts are on the official side; you are representing Sulfuric Acid Country in issuing important declarations
