In the absorption towers used for producing high-purity sulfuric acid, tetrafluoro-filled packing is usually preferred, as it offers better resistance to chemical corrosion and a longer service life. At the same time, structured packing is a more common choice, as it can provide higher mass transfer efficiency and lower pressure drops.
