Xiangyang to Build a Billion-Yuan-Class Phosphorus, Coal, and Fluorine Industry Base 2025-07-11 On July 9, Xiangyang held an event to sign contracts for key investment attraction projects in the second quarter; these 41 projects have a total investment of 86.87 billion yuan, with 3 of them involving investments of over 10 billion yuan each. The investors behind these projects are Hubei Liantou Group Co., Ltd., Hubei Branch of China Huadian Group Co., Ltd., and Chengdu Yuntu Holding Co., Ltd. Among them, Hubei Liantou takes advantage of Xiangyang’s rich phosphate mineral resources, investing a total of 30 billion yuan to help build a phosphate chemical industry cluster worth hundreds of billions of yuan in Xiangyang. During the event, Liu Jungang, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of Hubei Liantou Group, extended his sincere congratulations on the successful holding of the signing ceremony. He said that in recent years, Hubei Liantou has resolutely implemented the actions aimed at deepening and improving state-owned enterprise reform. On the basis of reshaping its “three traditional core businesses,” it has accelerated its transition toward three industrial sectors: fine chemicals, new energy, and new materials. By leveraging Xiangyang’s unique advantage of abundant phosphate mineral resources, the company is focused on the strategy of “developing industries through minerals and integrating mining with industrial activities.” With the Phosphorus, Coal, and Fluorine Industry Base project in Xiangyang, as well as the Aerospace Innovation Center project, which were signed recently, as driving forces, it is committed to helping Xiangyang build a phosphate chemical industry cluster worth hundreds of billions of yuan. The coordinated development of high-performance level phosphorus coal and fluorine chemical industries will accelerate the establishment of a competitive advantage across the entire industry chain characterized by integration of mining and processing, green energy utilization, and a circular economy model ； Strong collaborative efforts are made to provide the elements necessary for the clustered development of industries, with a focus on ensuring a stable supply of ores, providing supply chain support, and jointly developing infrastructure, in order to promote resource sharing, benefit sharing, and joint responsibility-taking ； Efforts will be made to accelerate the completion and commissioning of the industrial base. Through the \"five-specialized\" implementation mechanism, which involves dedicated teams, designated personnel, focused efforts on key areas, specific responsibilities for implementation, and targeted solutions to challenges, it is ensured that construction will begin in the fourth quarter and the facility will become operational as soon as possible. This will contribute to Xiangyang’s efforts to rapidly develop into a regional center city in central and western China.
