The joint commissioning of the turbine fan, a key equipment for improving the efficiency of Witon Fuquan Phase I sulfur-based sulfuric acid production plant, was a complete success. On July 20th, the project aimed at enhancing the performance of the sulfur-based sulfuric acid production facility in Fuquan’s sulfuric acid operation center reached an important milestone: the core equipment, namely the turbine fan, was successfully tested in a joint operation mode, marking significant progress in the construction of this project. The test run lasted 9 days, during which the project team conducted thorough inspections and adjustments to the turbine fan system, successfully completing various unit tests including an overspeed test. At 12:36 p.m. on July 20, the fan was successfully started under load, and immediately entered a 5-hour test run at its rated speed. Throughout the entire testing process, key operational parameters such as equipment vibration remained stable and met the specified standards, fully satisfying the design requirements, which confirms the successful completion of the tests. 【Equipment Background and Project Significance】The main component of this renovation, the turbine fan, is a key equipment in Wittenford Quan Phase I sulfuric acid production plant, and its service history is quite unique. This fan was manufactured in 1981 and was initially used in a sulfuric acid plant in Canada with an annual production capacity of 400,000 tons; it stopped operating after about two years of use. In 2001, the company decided to relocate the entire set of equipment back to the country. Before the relocation, the head office carried out a comprehensive overhaul of the turbine fans and implemented important technical upgrades, upgrading the original \"full-condensation units\" to more energy-efficient \"back-pressure units\". On July 10, 2003, the facility was built and put into operation in the country. To date, this fan has been in service for 43 years, and it has been operating steadily in China for over 20 years. As the operating years increase, the equipment gradually develops systematic aging issues, making it difficult to meet the production demands of current facilities and thus limiting the full utilization of overall production capacity. In order to improve the technical level of its facilities, ensure safe and environmentally sustainable production, serve customers better, and actively implement the plans outlined in the group’s and company’s 15th Five-Year Plan, the company officially launched the first-phase project to enhance the efficiency of its sulfur-based sulfuric acid production facility in July 2023, following thorough evaluation. With the strong support of the group and the company, the project team was established on March 12, 2024, to carry out the project construction on a full scale.
