PVB resin is polyvinyl butyral resin, which is used to produce PVB interlayer films and is applied in industries such as automotive, construction, and photovoltaics. The major market shares worldwide are in the hands of European and American companies, such as Oakhead, Sumitomo, DuPont, and Korail. Domestic products suffer from certain shortcomings compared to foreign ones in terms of both fluidity and melt index. Many companies also stopped production due to technical reasons. Currently, many companies in China are still producing PVB resin. But it is mostly used in the construction industry.
