This year, a project for treating mercury-containing wastewater is planned. The preliminary treatment process involves using Na2S for precipitation, followed by flocculation with polyaluminum chloride, and then adsorption using resins; the discharge standards require the mercury level to be below 3 ppb. The method of using alkali sulfide to remove mercury is currently the mainstream approach, but an excess of sodium sulfide can easily react with mercury sulfide, leading to the hydrolysis of mercury salts. Multiple professional wastewater treatment companies use their own composite additives to form complexes that stabilize mercury salts, resulting in a higher efficiency in mercury removal.
We do not have a deep desorption unit, and we plan to treat the waste acid and waste alkali together after neutralization. First, it is necessary to identify the sources and quantities of all mercury-containing waste (liquids).
