Recently, the Shenghong Chemical New Materials project has achieved a key breakthrough: the construction of the high-end copolymer new materials facility is coming to an end, and the core equipment has begun trial operations; this represents the final stage of this chemical new materials project. The project is expected to come online in August this year, with a total investment of around 15.6 billion yuan; it will represent another important milestone in Shenghong Petrochemical’s development in the field of new materials. The high-end copolymer new material project, which began construction in August 2024, utilizes a combination of domestic and imported equipment to establish China’s first industrial production line capable of producing both EnBA and EMAA products. As high-performance copolymers, EnBA and EMAA possess suitable semiconductive properties, which enable effective control of the electric field around metal conductors and prevent cables from failing due to electromagnetic effects ; It can also withstand harsh environments such as high temperatures, humidity, and exposure to sunlight. Its good material compatibility makes it suitable for use in cable structures made of various metal conductors and insulating materials. It can support the upgrading of materials in key sectors such as electronic information, automobile manufacturing, and aerospace, providing essential impetus for China’s high-end polymer industry to overcome existing constraints. This project is an important part of the Shenghong Chemical New Materials Project, a major initiative in Jiangsu Province. Once completed, it will enable the annual production of 30,000 tons of EVA, 10,000 tons of EnBA, 10,000 tons of EMAA, and other high-end new material products. Meanwhile, 3 sets of photovoltaic-grade EVA production facilities with an annual capacity of 200,000 tons each, 1 POE production facility with an annual capacity of 100,000 tons, and 1 facility for the separation of C5 and C9 compounds with an annual capacity of 100,000 tons have been successfully commissioned, laying a solid foundation for the future expansion of production capacity.
