What do \"catalytic diesel up-pumping\" and \"down-pumping\" mean? Should I start pumping it out if there’s little diesel left?
The upper and lower extraction points in a distillation tower are at different heights; this is done primarily to adjust the quality of diesel. For example, in summer when a higher octane rating is required, the lower extraction point is generally used.
The adjustment by pulling up and down depends mainly on the quality of diesel; a higher temperature when pulling down results in a higher 95% point for the diesel.
The positions of the upper and lower distillation outlets are not at the same height, nor are their temperatures the same; as a result, the components differ. This allows for the adjustment of the final boiling point of diesel.
