What are those green plates on the circulating water side of the plate heat exchanger?

Hello everyone, there is green scale on the plates on the cooling side of our plate heat exchanger’s circulating water system (see photo). What is this? The plate heat exchanger has only been in use for two months.
It looks like rust; is that white stuff also scale?
This sheet is made of nickel; does nickel develop patina? The color of the plate should be the same as that in the lower left corner of the photo; currently, both the yellow and white ones are covered in dirt.
This post was last edited by qugd on 2019-10-17 at 12:19. Some nickel compounds formed as a result of corrosion are also green; for example, basic nickel carbonate is distinctly green.
Referring to qugd’s reply, it has only been in use for 2 months, so the scaling and corrosion are quite severe. Don’t you use corrosion and scale inhibitors?
Some samples can be collected and sent to a research institute for chemical analysis, so as to roughly determine what they are
