Recently, the renovation project for the ultra-low emission combustion (CEB) system at Gulei Petrochemical Company was successfully completed. This not only provided a boost to the company’s development through \"green and efficient\" solutions but also brought tangible economic benefits, reducing operating costs by approximately 5 million yuan per year. It is understood that the CEB unit, as a key component of Gulei Petrochemical Company’s environmental protection system, is primarily used for the treatment of volatile organic compound (VOCs) gases and the control of emissions. It enables ultra-low emission levels with no smoke or dust, achieving a removal rate of up to 99.99%. Featuring a wide range of applications, small space requirements, and excellent treatment efficiency, it can deliver maximum environmental benefits even in limited spaces. “The waste gas treatment system of Gulei Petrochemical Company has two incinerators. ”Zhang Ge, the engineer in charge of environmental protection related to storage and transportation, explained: “Originally, one of the units was used to handle the exhaust gases generated during the wastewater and alkali slag treatment processes, while the other unit was dedicated to treating the gases emitted in the storage tank area and during loading operations.” Now we are rerouting the exhaust pipes for wastewater and alkaline slag to be sent directly to the inlet of the incinerator as combustion air. In this way, not only is a significant amount of fuel gas consumption reduced, but the daily operation of one incinerator is also eliminated, thereby reducing the frequency and costs of equipment maintenance. ” Following the renovation of the CEB unit, the company can save approximately 4 million yuan in fuel gas costs and over 100,000 yuan in electricity costs each year. Furthermore, spare parts consumption has also been significantly reduced, saving approximately 300,000 yuan in equipment maintenance costs each year. In recent years, Gulei Petrochemical Company has made significant efforts in technological innovation, focusing on initiatives such as establishing a \"waste-free enterprise,\" conducting clean production audits, and building \"green factories.\" Through these efforts, it has continuously improved its environmental management practices and is steadily moving toward sustainable development goals that emphasize greenness, low carbon emissions, and sustainability. In February this year, Gulei Petrochemical and Zhangzhou Nuclear Power signed a strategic agreement to use nuclear energy as a clean source of power for supplying steam and heat to the petrochemical complex, thereby establishing an \"industrial steam supply – multi-energy integration\" system to help reduce carbon emissions in the petrochemical industry. The Zhangzhou nuclear power plant is planned to have 6 Hualong One reactors, which will generate over 60 billion kWh of clean electricity per year.
