On July 9, news came from **Pipeline Network Group** stating that the Zhangzhou liquefied natural gas transmission pipeline project, a key initiative aimed at improving the interconnection of natural gas infrastructure, has been put into full operation. With an annual gas transmission capacity of around 4.2 billion cubic meters, this project marks a significant improvement in the natural gas supply capacity in China’s southeast region. The Zhangzhou liquefied natural gas transmission pipeline project is 123 kilometers in length. Starting from the Zhangzhou liquefied natural gas receiving station, it connects to the Haixi pipeline network as well as the eastern section of the West Third Line. It enables the transportation of approximately 4.2 billion cubic meters of natural gas per year from the sea to the country’s main oil and gas pipelines. While supplying gas to the market in Fujian Province, it also provides a source of gas for peak demand coverage and emergency supply in neighboring provinces such as Jiangxi and Hunan. It is understood that the Zhangzhou Liquefied Natural Gas transmission pipeline project is a supporting facility for the Zhangzhou Liquefied Natural Gas project, and it represents the first newly built liquefied natural gas receiving station to come online since the establishment of **Pipeline Network Group. The first phase of this project requires an investment of around 6.313 billion yuan, and once operational, it will have an annual liquefied natural gas processing capacity of 3 million tons. The annual total output value from foreign trade and contract processing is expected to exceed 10 billion yuan, sufficient to meet the gas demand of 13 million households in regions such as Fujian, Jiangxi, Guangdong, and Zhejiang. At present, China’s main natural gas pipeline network has basically taken shape. It comprises a backbone pipeline system centered around the West-East Gas Pipeline, the Shaanxi-Beijing pipeline system, the Sichuan-East Gas Pipeline, the China-Myanmar Pipeline, and the China-Russia Eastern Route Pipeline. The total length of these pipelines exceeds 50,000 kilometers, with an annual gas transmission capacity of over 320 billion cubic meters.
