Oman OQ initiates FEED tender for Saih Nihayda natural gas liquids project to create an integrated NGL value chain

OQ Oman has issued a Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) tender for the Saih Nihayda natural gas liquids project, aiming to establish an integrated NGL value chain. The OQ Group in Oman has launched this FEED tender for the Saih Nihayda natural gas liquids (NGL) extraction facility. The project has a maximum processing capacity of 48 million cubic meters per day. It is a crucial strategic initiative for strengthening Oman’s energy industry ecosystem and increasing the added value of natural gas. The project will strengthen the regional natural gas supply chain and support Oman’s industrial diversification development plan. The new facility will create a complete integrated NGL value chain, linking upstream extraction at Saih Nihayda with the processing, distillation, storage, and export infrastructure in the Doukoum Special Economic Zone (SEZAD). The project includes the construction of a dedicated 230-kilometer, 16-inch gas pipeline, as well as a downstream fractionation complex in Duqm for separating key gas components. The products will include ethane, propane, butane, and C5+ condensates, which can be supplied for use in the petrochemical and manufacturing industries in Oman and regional markets. The ethane extracted by the facility is expected to serve as a key raw material for the proposed Oman Petrochemical Complex in Duqm, making the project a crucial infrastructure for **industrial upgrading.
