On April 2, Shenyang Gas Group Co., Ltd. and Zhejiang Chint New Energy Development Co., Ltd. formally signed a framework agreement for the Faku wind power-green hydrogen integrated natural gas project in Hangzhou. This marks a breakthrough for Shenyang in the large-scale application of green hydrogen, and it also sets a new benchmark for the green transformation of the energy structure in the Northeast region. Following consultations and joint technical evaluations between both parties, the first phase involves constructing a hydrogen-blended natural gas demonstration project in the Faku Economic Development Zone in Liaoning Province, with an annual hydrogen blending capacity reaching tens of millions of cubic meters. To date, the project has completed the site selection for the gas station, field surveys for the wind turbine locations, and the evaluation of technical solutions. It is planned to establish a 40MW wind-powered hydrogen production facility near the Shenfa Gas Station, with green electricity being supplied directly to the hydrogen production plant via dedicated power lines. The project is designed to produce 25 million standard cubic meters of hydrogen per year. The hydrogen generated is allocated and utilized by Shenyang Gas Group in line with the city’s annual natural gas consumption, thereby creating a green hydrogen supply system in which hydrogen is produced in Faku and shared across the entire city.
