The impact of chloride ions on COD online analyzers

Our company has an online COD analyzer, and after the wastewater generated by our facility is treated, the COD level measured by this analyzer is around 500, which exceeds the standard value of 300 set by the environmental protection authorities. Later, when samples were taken from the laboratory, the chloride concentration in the treated wastewater was as high as around 5,000. Excuse me, is there any good solution? I’ve read many articles online; they all mention methods such as mercury salts and silver sulfate, but these actually don’t have much effect. One more question: are there any COD online analyzers available that can mitigate the interference caused by chloride ions? Thank you
National standards specify measures to eliminate chloride ion interference, namely the use of mercury salts. It can only be done this way; it’s the standard.
