Case 1: A laboratory applied for maintenance and inspection services for its fire protection systems, but the application was rejected outright on the grounds that CMA approvals are not granted to such laboratories…… What exactly is going on here? Areas where 2CMA does not accept applications: 1. In cases where laws and regulations do not explicitly require the acquisition of accreditation as a testing and inspection institution, such accreditation is not necessary. 2. Certificates of qualification will no longer be issued to institutions that are engaged solely in fields such as scientific research, medicine and health care, occupational health technical assessment services, animal and plant quarantine, as well as construction project quality inspection, building inspection, and maintenance and testing of fire protection facilities. For those who have already obtained a qualification certification, no further applications for such certifications will be accepted during the validity period of the certificate, and the validity period of the certification will not be extended. 3.
