Dear experts, can propane or butane be used as the feedstock for propane dehydrogenation units? Are there any propane dehydrogenation units in China that use a mixture of the two?

The feed to the propane dehydrogenation unit cannot be replaced with a C3C4 mixed feed; the overall process flow is different, especially in the separation section. However, the new device can be used directly for mixed dehydrogenation, and there are several such units in China as well.
Can new technologies be used for mixed dehydrogenation? The post above mentions that Jingbo Petrochemical uses mixed dehydrogenation of C3 and C4 compounds – is this considered a new technology?

Propane dehydrogenation is carried out to produce propylene; obviously, propane is the most suitable raw material. What is the purpose of using butane as a raw material? The purpose of carbon 4 alkane dehydrogenation is to obtain carbon 4 alkene, which is fundamentally different from the goal of obtaining propylene.
That’s also possible; in that case, propylene and butadiene are the two products obtained after distillation
