The organic solvent that has absorbed biooil separates into two layers after being left to stand. How do I proceed if I want to use a capillary to remove the lower layer of liquid?
Should we consider using a siphon? ;P
Could you please give a brief overview of how to use a siphon for these operations?
If it is a laboratory experiment, use a separatory funnel. If it is industrial separation, a separation tank will do; after extraction separation, settling, and layering, different outlet pipelines can be set up based on the various separation levels.
Just insert the straw into the lower layer
If the straw is inserted directly into the lower layer, won’t the solution from the upper layer get into the straw?
Since the solution is made up to volume in a volumetric flask, a separatory funnel is required if liquid needs to be transferred. To keep it simple, is it possible to directly take a small amount of solution from the lower layer for experimentation? Use a straw directly, as there is a concern that drawing in the upper layer of solution might affect the analysis results.
Just aspirate the upper supernatant, right?

Among laboratory glassware, there is a device called a funnel flask; the liquid from a volumetric flask is transferred into this funnel flask, and the liquid that flows out of it is the phase with higher density. 2. Remove the stopper from the volumetric flask and replace it with a rubber stopper equipped with a valve for releasing liquid (or simply install a stopcock suitable for a PTFE titration tube). After securing it in place, tilt the volumetric flask slowly so that the liquid inside flows toward the mouth of the flask; this allows a small amount of the liquid from the bottom to be released. Alternatively, use a clean, empty burette to pour the liquid from the volumetric flask into it; after waiting for a while, some of the liquid from the lower layer will flow out of the burette. 3. The simplest method is to find a clean, dry wash bottle, pour the liquid from the volumetric flask into it, ensuring that the liquid on the bottom completely covers the lower opening of the wash bottle; this way, the liquid on the bottom can be removed directly using the wash bottle. I think the original poster doesn’t use any common sense at all; either they lack practical laboratory experience or they don’t consult more experienced colleagues.
