I recently took on a forensic assessment project: in July, a fire broke out in the defendant’s factory, releasing large amounts of smoke and gases, which caused the plaintiff’s stainless steel flagpoles, gates, and steel structures to become corroded. On-site measurements showed that the hydrogen chloride content in the air was above the permissible levels; samples were also taken from the eroded surface layers for analysis, and soil samples were collected on site for analysis as well.
