When the pressure in the flash tank is low and the coolant temperature is low, the compressor motor speed should be automatically adjusted via the compressor hydraulic coupler controlled by the flash tank pressure, in order to regulate the flash tank pressure. Controlling the flash tank pressure by increasing or decreasing the anti-surge amount is generally not recommended. 1. When the pressure in the flash tank is low or the coolant temperature is low, shouldn’t the compressor speed be reduced to increase the pressure in the flash tank? 2. What are the reasons why using a surge prevention line to control the pressure of the flash tank is not recommended? Wasting energy? Could this lead to pressure buildup at the outlet of the energy-saving tank and poor refrigerant flow?
