On December 21, the commissioning ceremony for the 1.2 million tons per year ethylene plant of the Tarim Phase II ethylene project was held, marking the official start of construction for this project. 　　The total investment for the Tarim Phase II ethylene project is 29 billion yuan. The construction scope includes: the building of 11 main production units, such as one unit for producing 1.2 million tons of ethylene per year, two units for producing 450,000 tons of high-density polyethylene per year, one unit for producing 300,000 tons of low-density polyethylene per year, and one unit for producing 450,000 tons of polypropylene per year; in addition, a green and low-carbon demonstration project will be developed as well. 　　It is reported that the project is scheduled to be basically completed by the end of 2025, with an intermediate handover taking place in March 2026, and full operation to commence in June 2026.
