1. The oil quenchers used in the cracking furnaces of ethylene plants are generally of either overflow mixing type or spray mixing type. What are the differences between these two types, what are their advantages and disadvantages, and what are the considerations regarding their structure and operation? It would be even better if diagrams or pictures could be shared for illustration. 2. A section of straight pipe is installed behind the waste heat boiler header and in front of the oil quencher to serve as a coke collector; as the pyrolysis gas passes through, the heavier coke particles fall down and accumulate inside this collector. Could someone introduce this defocuser, its internal structure, and the handling of the focal particles inside it after it starts operating?
The coke replenisher is essentially a large straight tube that takes advantage of the difference in inertia between the gas phase and the coke particles to capture them; afterward, once the coking process is complete, the coke particles inside the replenisher are removed manually!
