(1) Preparation before testing 1. Please read the instruction manual carefully before using the actual gelatin tester. 2. Carefully read the provisions in the People’s Republic of China standard GB/T8019 \"Method for determining actual gum content in automotive gasoline and aviation fuel (spray evaporation method)\") regarding the testing of actual gum content in aviation gasoline and automotive gasoline, and understand and become familiar with the preparatory work, test procedures, and requirements outlined in the standard. 3. Prepare all the testing instruments, materials, etc. required according to the standards specified above. 4. In accordance with the requirements for \"gas path connection during the steam bath test\", connect the tap water supply line and the steam supply line of the instrument (see Figure 4). Note: The water supply pipes and steam pipelines must be installed by qualified professionals in accordance with the requirements specified in the instructions, to ensure reliable and safe operation. 5. Check the operating condition of the actual gel testing apparatus; it should meet the operating environment and conditions specified in this manual. 6. Check that the casings of the two actual gel testing instruments are in a proper grounded state. 7. The operating power supply for this instrument, the “actual gel test device”, is AC220V±10%, 50Hz, 2kW ; “The operating power supply for the steam boiler is AC380V three-phase, 50Hz, 9kw; it should be equipped with a power distribution box that meets the above requirements. The power cable of the connected instrument should have a proper grounding terminal. 8. Install the actual gum tester in accordance with the requirements of this manual; after verifying that everything is correct, turn it on to check that it operates properly. 9. As required by the steam boiler user manual, install the steam boiler properly; after verifying that everything is in order, start it up for a test run – it should operate normally. (II) During the steam bath test: 1. With the actual gelatin tester and steam boiler operating properly, and with the water supply and steam pipelines properly connected, turn the \"air-to-steam switch\" to the \"steam\" position. 2. Place the test cup, nozzle, thermometer stand, thermometer, etc., in their proper positions. 3. Control of steam flow: The flow rate is calibrated by successively condensing the steam exiting each outlet and weighing the condensed water. Heat the test bath to bring the device into operation. Use the condensate collection device included with this instrument to connect to the three conical exhaust ports of the test bath, and extend the copper tube of the condensate collection device into a 2-liter graduated cylinder filled with crushed ice and of known weight. Allow steam to be discharged into the measuring cylinder for about 60 seconds. Adjust the position of the measuring cylinder so that the end of the copper tube is submerged in water to a depth of less than 50 millimeters, in order to prevent excessive back pressure. Weigh the weight of the measuring cylinder; the increase in weight represents the amount of vapor that has condensed. The steam flow rate is calculated using the following formula: (m0-m1) × 1000 / R = K × t. Where: R is the flow rate of steam at 232°C, in milliliters per second ; m0 —— the weight of the test cylinder filled with condensed steam, in grams ; m1 —— weight of the graduated cylinder and ice, in grams ; K —— At standard pressure, the weight of 1000 milliliters of steam at 232°C is equal to 0.434 grams ; T —— Cooling time, in seconds. The supply pressure of external steam to the instrument is adjusted using control valves for the steam bath and those on the steam boiler’s steam output, such that the total steam flow rate across the three evaporation baths is 3000 milliliters per second; the reading on the pressure gauge then determines the steam pressure corresponding to this desired flow rate. Note: Use the above method to determine whether the flow rates at the steam outlets of each evaporation bath are consistent; if the flow rate at any individual outlet varies by more than 150 milliliters per second, necessary adjustments must be made. The test requirements are met only when the steam flow rates at all three outlets are adjusted to 1000 milliliters ± 150 milliliters per second. 4. Experimental procedure: Place the sample cup, nozzle, thermometer stand, thermometer, etc. in their proper positions. Heat the test bath to bring the device into operation. When the temperature reaches 232°C, dry steam is slowly introduced into the system until the flow rate at each outlet reaches (1000±150) milliliters per second. Adjust the bath temperature to the range of (232–246)°C, and regulate the heater so that the evaporation bath temperature is (232±3)°C. Note: The temperature must be measured using a specified thermometer, the mercury bulb of which should be inserted to the bottom of the beaker in each evaporation bath hole equipped with a thermometer holder. Note: Any hole with a temperature difference of more than 3°C from 232°C is not suitable for this method.
