On August 12, 2021, Hohhot Xuyang Hydrogen Energy Co., Ltd. was established in Qingshuihe County, Hohhot City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. The company is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Dingzhou Xuyang Hydrogen Energy Co., Ltd., and it bears the important responsibilities entrusted to it regarding the development of hydrogen energy within the Xuyang Group (01907). As part of the group’s overall strategy for hydrogen energy development, the Hohhot campus of the Xuyang Group uses the construction of hydrogen refueling stations as a model to get things started, with the integrated stations that combine fueling, hydrogen refueling, gas filling, and charging serving as a foundation for further development in this sector. This represents a significant milestone in the advancement of hydrogen energy industry activities in the Hohhot campus of the Xuyang Group, signaling the official launch of hydrogen energy initiatives there. From a broader perspective of the group’s hydrogen energy development efforts, this is another important step following the establishment of Xingtai Xuyang Hydrogen Energy Co., Ltd. on July 29th. It is reported that at the Hydrogen Energy Conference of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region held on November 10, 2020, leveraging the coking and hydrogen production integrated utilization project in Xuyang’s Hohhot campus, Xuyang Zhongran, a subsidiary of Xuyang Group, signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement on hydrogen energy utilization with Qingshuihe County in Hohhot, aiming to carry out comprehensive strategic cooperation in areas such as hydrogen production, storage, transportation, hydrogen refueling station construction, and the hydrogen energy industry. Based on the current coking capacity of Xuyang Group’s Hohhot plant, there is an annual hydrogen production capacity of 180 million Nm3. With the start of construction projects related to coking and hydrogen production as part of the plant’s transformation and upgrading, it is expected that by 2023, this capacity will reach 540 million Nm3 per year. It is understood that Xuyang Group has been committed to actively exploring the development of clean energy, and it has intensified its efforts in this area even after setting the goals of \"reaching carbon peak and achieving carbon neutrality.\" As an extended industry of Xuyang Group’s Hohhot campus, hydrogen energy benefits from abundant green, low-carbon, and low-cost by-product hydrogen resources. In line with Xuyang Group’s \"Sixth Five-Year Development Plan\" and \"Ten-Year Development Outline,\" the Xuyang Hohhot campus, taking advantage of the unique resources and geographical advantages of the area, plans to establish facilities at Hohhot Baita International Airport, Hohhot South Station, Tuoketuo East Station, Liangcheng Bus Station, Ulanqab Station, as well as the Ordos Dali Industrial Park within the next 5 years. Ten hydrogen refueling stations will be built there successively ; At the same time, efforts will also be made to explore the planning and construction of a hydrogen pipeline from Qingshuihe County to Beijing; once built and put into use, it will serve as an important source of hydrogen supply for cities along the route, including Hohhot, Zhangjiakou, and Beijing. In summary, the Hohhot campus of Xuyang Group will develop the hydrogen energy industry through comprehensive planning, striving to become the first hydrogen energy demonstration base in the Hohhot area and even in the Northwest region. It will establish a green hydrogen energy industry chain, attract investment through business partnerships, and drive the development of related industries upstream and downstream in the hydrogen sector, thereby promoting the green and low-carbon development of this industry. This will make a significant contribution to the implementation of the \"2060\" dual-carbon targets set by Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and Hohhot City.
