Cold oil replacement is generally applied to heat transfer oil furnaces that use coal or other solid fuels, as the fuel in the furnace continues to burn for some time after a power outage. To protect the furnace tubes and prevent the heat transfer oil from overheating, a cold oil replacement pipeline connected to a low-level oil storage tank is usually installed on the outlet pipe of the heat transfer oil furnace. When this pipeline is activated, the low-temperature heat transfer oil stored in the expansion tank flows automatically into the furnace due to the pressure difference, passing through the expansion tube, as well as the inlet and outlet pipes of the heat transfer oil pump, before entering the oil storage tank via the cold oil replacement pipe. For fuel and gas boilers, it is generally not necessary to install cold oil replacement pipelines, as the supply of fuel stops immediately in the event of a power outage. Without a continuous combustion process in the furnace, the temperature drops rapidly as well; therefore, such pipelines serve little purpose.
