Recently, the list of major projects in Jiangsu Province for 2024 was officially released and put into effect. The list includes a total of 510 projects, of which 450 are to be implemented and 60 are in reserve; the annual planned investment for these implementation projects amounts to 640.8 billion yuan. A review of the list shows that there are 280 industrial projects, 68 more than the previous year, representing a 32% increase. The planned annual investment for these projects is 216.6 billion yuan. Of these, 245 are manufacturing projects, accounting for 87% of all industrial projects; the planned annual investment for these manufacturing projects is 200.1 billion yuan, accounting for 92% of the total investment in industrial projects. There are 18 chemical industry projects, namely: Nanjing Jinling Petrochemical’s high-end daily chemicals and transformation project; Xuzhou Jinkong Xinhengsheng’s chemicals for electronics and new energy applications; Qidong Huafeng Ruixun’s bio-new materials project; Rudong 99jiu’s new materials project; Lianyungang Shengbang’s aramid materials project; Lianyungang Shenghong’s chemical new materials project; Lianyungang Fenghai’s comprehensive propane utilization project; Lianyungang Jiao’s bio-jet fuel project; Lianyungang Shenghong’s first-phase biodegradable materials project; Lianyungang Hongwei’s POSM and polyol products project; Lianyungang Hongjing’s POE new materials project; Taizhou Xinpu Chemical’s high-end new materials project; Taizhou Jingying’s integrated oil industry and China headquarters project; Taizhou Huidé’s polyurethane new materials project; Taizhou Lianhong Huisheng’s thermoplastic polyethylene elastomer project; Huai’an Aikewoxim’s fine chemicals project; Yancheng Lanze’s green methanol project; Yizheng Jinling Petrochemical’s high-end new materials project. Chemical new material projects include the Nanjing Yangzi Yangba Light Hydrocarbons Comprehensive Utilization and New Materials Project, the Wuxi Shunxuan Polyimide Film Project, the Wuxi Dongheng Lithium Battery Carbon Nanomaterials Project, the Suzhou Hengli Yangtze River Delta New Materials Industry Base Project, the Lianyungang Zhongfu Shenying Carbon Fiber Materials Project, the Lianyungang Aoshen Polyimide Materials Project, the Rudong Hengyue Ultra-High Molecular Weight Polyethylene Fiber Project, the Haimen Huiju High-End Formulation R&D and Manufacturing Project, the Nantong Xindeke High-Performance Polymer Filaments Project, the Huai’an Kechuan Electronic Functional Films Project, the Zhenjiang Changqingshu Special Polymer Materials Project, the Xihong Qunchuang High-Performance Functional Films Project, the Suqian Lucky Optical Films Phase II Project, and the Xihong Sidike New Energy Coating Composite Materials Project, among others. In addition, the ethylene technology upgrade and restructuring project along with integrated development of downstream new materials at Nanjing Yangzi Petrochemical, the green and low-carbon aromatic hydrocarbons improvement project at Nanjing Yangzi Petrochemical, the fourth-generation refrigerant project carried out by Honeywell & Sinochem Blue Sky in Zhangjiagang, the first phase of China National Petroleum Corporation’s new materials base in Nantong, the Ru Dong Weiming nylon new materials project, Lianyungang Shengjing’s new materials project with an annual production capacity of 1.4 million tons of ethylene, Lianyungang Petrochemical’s project with an annual production capacity of 800,000 tons of PVC and related green products, and Taizhou CNOOC’s project for high-end lubricants and specialty oils have been included in the reserve list of projects.
