Fushun Petrochemical’s new 200,000-ton/year solution polymerization polyethylene plant has commenced operations

On July 23, the commissioning ceremony for Fushun Petrochemical Company’s newly built 200,000 tons per year solution-process polyethylene plant was successfully held at the Ethylene Department. The construction of a new 200,000-ton/year polyethylene plant using the solution process is an important part of the company’s project to upgrade its 800,000-ton/year ethylene plant and improve its energy efficiency. It plays a key role in the company’s efforts to achieve technological self-reliance and develop new forms of productive capacity tailored to local conditions. It also helps the company strengthen its position in the high-end new materials industry and build core competitive advantages. This project is of great significance for the company’s focus on technological innovation, its efforts to accelerate transformation and upgrading, and its pursuit of high-quality development, as well as for its progress toward higher levels in the “refining, chemical processing, and high-value materials” industry chain. The facility covers a total area of approximately 36,000 square meters. It utilizes China National Petroleum Corporation’s first independently developed polyethylene production process kit with an annual capacity of 200,000 tons. This process kit was developed through collaboration between Fushun Petrochemical Company and Daqing Petrochemical Engineering Co., Ltd., marking an important achievement in terms of independent innovation in the field of core polyethylene production technologies.
