Luoyang takes the lead in integrating the province’s petrochemical resources, gaining control of Puyang Zhongyuan Petrochemical; an era of large-scale ethylene production in Henan has officially begun! Major news in the industry: Henan’s petrochemical sector is undergoing a milestone restructuring! Sinopec Henan Refining & Chemical, better known as the former Luoyang Petrochemical, has now successfully taken control of Puyang Zhongyuan Petrochemical. This equity adjustment represents a crucial step taken by Henan Province to coordinate its petrochemical industry and consolidate ethylene production capacity on a centralized basis; it marks the official entry of Henan’s petrochemical industry into a new phase of integrated and intensive development. For a long time, the petrochemical industry in Henan was scattered in terms of its layout; the two major petrochemical hubs in Luoyang and Puyang operated independently of each other. This led to fragmented resources and difficulties in coordinating production capacity, as well as short industrial chains and weak agglomeration effects, which prevented the development of a scalable competitive advantage for this industry. Today, at the provincial level, efforts are being made to take proactive action; with Luoyang Refining and Chemicals as the key leader, high-quality petrochemical assets within the province are being integrated, geographical restrictions are being overcome, and unified resource allocation, coordinated industrial planning, and a unified market strategy are being implemented, thereby completely changing the previous situation of separate development efforts by various entities.
