On October 15, Wang Guoquan, Secretary of the Party Committee of Zhungeer Banner, held discussions with Ni Xincai and Zheng Guodong, vice presidents of Rongsheng Group, to have in-depth exchanges on matters such as the commencement of construction of Rongsheng’s green coal integration project. Local party and government leaders, relevant departments, and officials from Rongsheng Group attended. At the meeting, the responsible person from Rongsheng Group provided further details on the prioritized implementation of the butanone and acetate projects, as well as on accelerating the construction of the gasification island and the land leveling work. He stated that efforts would be made to complete the land leveling during the construction period in winter and the first quarter of next year, and plans were outlined for advancing projects related to coal-to-oil, coal-to-gas, and coal-to-olefins. Wang Guoquan said that the Party committee and government will, as always, provide full support and comprehensive services for the project’s development. Focusing on key aspects such as site preparation, infrastructure setup, and procedural handling, they will offer all-round, \"nanny-style\" support to ensure the smooth progress of the project. It is hoped that the company will further accelerate the construction pace to enable the project to be completed, put into operation, and start generating benefits as soon as possible. Zhejiang Rongsheng Holding Group plans to invest around 160 billion yuan in a green coal chemical integration project to be built in Zhungeer Banner, Ordos City. The total land area allocated for this project is approximately 28 square kilometers, and it is intended to develop a full industrial chain for coal-based new materials with an annual production capacity of 6.5 million tons. This includes coal-based methanol and olefins, as well as downstream processing; the final products are more than 20 types of new chemical materials such as polyolefins, specialty rubbers, and carbon fibers. It is expected to process 35 million tons of raw coal per year. At the same time, the project includes the construction of coal mines to supply raw materials for production, as well as facilities for producing 4 billion cubic meters of coal-based natural gas; in addition, plans are in place for the construction of ultra-high-voltage power grids for transporting electricity and pipelines for transporting natural gas. In March 2024, two large-scale coal chemical projects of Zhejiang Rongsheng Holding Group Co., Ltd. were approved and registered in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, marking the official launch of these projects. The registration information shows that the contractor for both projects is Rongsheng Energy Technology (Inner Mongolia) Co., Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Zhejiang Rongsheng Holding Group. The projects in question are the “Chemical New Materials Project” and the “Coal-based Butyl Octanol and Acetate Project”; both projects were approved for registration on March 1, 2024.
