According to Sinochem New Network, at a meeting of the High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council held in Ankara recently, Turkey and Uzbekistan signed several agreements aimed at expanding their comprehensive strategic partnership to the fields of energy and industry. Energy was explicitly identified in these talks as one of the key areas of cooperation that both sides are committed to deepening. Against the backdrop of interconnection projects in areas such as the \"Middle Corridor,\" the cooperation between the two countries in energy resource development, chemical product trade, and industrial investment is expected to be further strengthened, jointly shaping a new pattern of energy and economic cooperation within the Eurasian continent. The outcomes of the meeting are directly related to the energy and chemical industry sector. The two sides signed a bilateral agreement covering cooperation on mining projects, and agreed to expand their collaboration in the field of nuclear safety. This indicates that the cooperation between the two countries is expanding from ordinary trade to the upstream stages of industrial chains such as resource development and advanced energy technologies. Economic and trade data further reveal the close ties and complementarity between the two countries in the field of energy and chemicals. Currently, the volume of bilateral trade between Turkey and Uzbekistan is approaching 3 billion dollars, with a target of 5 billion dollars. Uzbekistan’s main exports to Turkey include mineral products, plastics, and rubber; whereas Turkey’s exports to Uzbekistan consist mainly of chemical products, plastics, rubber, and mechanical equipment. This trade structure shows that Uzbekistan mainly supplies raw materials and primary products, while Turkey exports manufactured goods and production equipment with higher added value.
