On March 10, Tianjin Bohai Chemical Co., Ltd. announced that it had decided to extend the originally scheduled shutdown period for maintenance of its PDH (propane dehydrogenation) unit, marking the second extension of this maintenance period. According to a announcement issued by Bohai Chemical on October 14, 2025, in line with the annual plan, the PDH unit (with an annual production capacity of 600,000 tons) owned entirely by its subsidiary Tianjin Bohai Petrochemical Co., Ltd. began shutdown for maintenance on October 13, 2025, and the maintenance is expected to last around 30 days. Just over a month later, things changed. On November 22, 2025, Bohai Chemical issued a announcement stating that, due to the needs of the new projects for acrylate and superabsorbent resins being built within the Bohai Petrochemical complex, the PDH unit at Bohai Petrochemical needs to undergo joint testing and coordination of equipment and utility systems with those new projects. To ensure stable operation of the equipment, the maintenance cycle for the PDH unit needs to be extended; it is expected that the PDH unit will resume production by the end of February 2026. Regarding the reason for the further delay, Bohai Chemical stated in its announcement that \"due to the recent military conflicts between the United States and Israel and Iran, there has been a serious impact on the sustainability of raw material supply. Additionally, in order to ensure the safety and operational efficiency of subsequent production facilities, the company has decided to extend the originally scheduled shutdown period for the PDH facility.\" ”Furthermore, \"the specific duration of this extension will be adjusted dynamically based on market conditions and the progress of maintenance work.\"
