On April 20, the groundbreaking ceremony for Jilin Petrochemical’s thousand-ton capacity high-performance carbon fiber project, which was EPC-general contracted by Huanqiu Jilin Company, was held with great fanfare. This marked the official transition of China National Petroleum Corporation’s first thousand-ton capacity high-performance carbon fiber project from the design stage to the actual construction phase. High-performance carbon fiber is hailed as the “king of new materials” and serves as an important foundation for **strategically important emerging industries**. Jilin Petrochemical’s thousand-ton-per-year high-performance carbon fiber project is a key initiative by China National Petroleum Corporation to implement the strategy for the development of the new materials industry and to improve the structure of this industry. It holds milestone significance for overcoming the challenges related to the large-scale production of high-performance carbon fibers and for achieving domestic substitution of high-end materials. Upon completion of the project, Jilin Petrochemical’s production capacity for high-performance carbon fibers will rise to the thousand-ton level, making it a model facility for the large-scale production of high-performance carbon fibers in China. As the EPC general contractor for this project, Huanqiu Jilin Company will take creating a \"model project and a high-quality project\" as its highest guideline, and make every effort to deliver a satisfactory result. This project involves the construction of a new thousand-ton-scale high-performance carbon fiber production facility. The technology involved is complex and the standards are stringent. The construction scope includes not only the core units such as solvent recovery, polymerization, spinning, and carbonization, but also auxiliary utility systems such as solvent storage areas, finished product warehouses, and circulating water stations. At the same time, related demolition, reconstruction, and pipeline renovation work are carried out. Faced with challenges such as tight schedules, heavy tasks, and numerous concurrent operations, the company will make full use of its advantages in EPC turnkey project management to further deepen the integration of design and construction. During the project implementation, the company will form a capable project management team to systematically coordinate resource allocation and precisely oversee the design, procurement, and installation phases of key equipment.
