The compressor starts up normally when under load, but there is a clanking sound inside the cylinder. The pressure valve, air valves, and pistons were exchanged, as was the crosshead; no abnormalities were found. (There is no distinction between stage 1 and stage 2 – both cylinders are identical.) It was then discovered that one of the pressure valves had cracks; after replacing it, the clanking sound in one of the cylinders continued. I seek advice from experienced professionals in this field! Thank you!
"One of the pressure valve gases was cracked; after it was replaced, there was still a clanking sound coming from one of the cylinders. I would like to ask whether it is still the same cylinder and the same gas valve after the replacement? . In that case, my personal suggestion is to replace the material of the valve set screw and its cap, using a material with a higher hardness level as a substitute.
Is there a crack in one of the pressure valve gases? A pressure valve, right? Check if there is liquid inside the cylinder!
Is there a gasket at the bottom of the air valve? Is the thickness of the pad appropriate? Is the set screw of the right size and capable of providing sufficient compression?
Checked it – the set screw should be fine!
Under normal circumstances, it makes noise during no-load operation but no noise when under load; you have it the other way around. This indicates that there is a problem in the area through which the gas passes; the most likely cause is that the gas valve isn’t properly tightened. Also, is your piston single-acting or double-acting? If it is a single-acting type, it may also be necessary to check whether the piston is installed firmly enough.
This is a knocking sound caused by issues with the mechanism’s operation; if all connections and nuts are in good condition, it is recommended to check the bearing parts to see if the clearance there is too large.
This one of ours is a new machine that hasn’t been in use for even half a year; it’s an issue related to movement during operation. I’ve thought about this as well, but I can’t figure out the cause – there’s a knocking sound!
Which component has cracks? Is there a problem with the valve disc? Is there a problem with the intake valve or the exhaust valve? Is the valve fluttering? Are there any abnormalities in the exhaust pressure, temperature, and valve chamber temperature?
