Why are the flow rate and pressure values on the nameplate of some single-stage centrifugal fans exact numbers, while those on the nameplates of other fans are given as ranges?
It’s best to specify the range, so that surge can be anticipated during operation. That one wasn’t deliberately set, so it needs to be tested on-site.
Centrifugal fans are tested upon leaving the factory, and the air volume of the fan is controlled based on the speed of the motor; the maximum and minimum air volumes are indicated on the nameplate, so this is a better way to provide such information.
Do the so-called maximum and minimum air volumes refer to the same rotational speed or different rotational speeds?
Why must the surge test be carried out on-site? Can’t it be done at the manufacturing plant as well?
