Our company uses LYJⅡ-0.35/2400 type chlorine small turbine units produced by Hangzhou Sunshine Group. One of these units, unit number 3, has undergone several repairs by the manufacturer; however, after each repair and after it had been operating for about a week, the temperature of its secondary high-speed bearing would become too high and would fluctuate irregularly. During the winters in the south, when the ambient temperature drops, the bearing temperatures of the other two units remain at around 65°C, whereas the temperature of the bearing on unit number 3 rises to over 70°C after just a few days of operation, with irregular fluctuations that can reach up to 85°C. Such fluctuations occur two or three times a day, lasting approximately an hour each time. We reported this issue to the manufacturer, who sent someone to carry out repairs but only replaced the secondary bearing bush; the actual cause of the problem has not been identified. The issue still persists to this day. I would be very grateful if everyone could help discuss possible causes
1. How is the high-speed axial vibration?
Actually, we can think about it from a different perspective and see if there are other factors causing the problem; it’s not necessarily due to a malfunction in the equipment. We might consider things like the proper fixation of the measurement points and whether there are any faults with the temperature sensing elements
Is the temperature higher axially or radially?
It is the radial temperature of the secondary high-speed bearing.
Both the fixation of the measurement points and any failures related to them are deemed to be valid and error-free; however, after each temperature fluctuation, wear occurs in the secondary high-speed bearing shells!
